 Pierre de Fermat 

Pierre de Fermat was born on August 17, 1601 in Beaumont-de-Lomagne, France. He studied law in Toulouse. He was a math enthusiast and became one of the most important mathematicians of the time.

Among his contributions stand out works such as:

  • Method of the maximums and minimums 
  • Light Infraction
  • Probability theory

He died on January 1665 in Castres, France.
