Pierre
de Fermat was born on August 17, 1601 in Beaumont-de-Lomagne, France. He
studied law in Toulouse. He was a math enthusiast and became one of the most
important mathematicians of the time.

- Probability theory
He
died on January 1665 in Castres, France.
